The first edition was taken by the Welshman Doug Mountjoy, in the following editions they raised the title (the stars of the moment and legends today) Steve Davis (1984 Y 1987), Terry Griffiths (1985), Willie Thorne (1986), Jimmy White (1988), James Wattana (1990), Stephen Hendry (1991), Neil Robertson (2017).
In case you don't know James Wattana, held the record for the fastest maximum break of all time (7 minutes and 9 seconds), until a certain Ronnie showed up and snatched it from him in 1997.
