PAUL HUNTER CLASSIC (ET2): 26/30 August 2.015, Fürth (Germany)

“Paul Hunter Classic 2.015” is the second minor-ranking tournament of the season 2.015/2.016 of the Creative Dental European Tour. It will be played in the city of Fürth, Germany, of 26 al 30 of August.
The tournament brings together many of the best professional players together with the main local amateurs.
It owes its name to Paul Hunter, three-time Masters champion, deceased in the year 2.006.
The tournament started in 2.004 as the Grand Prix Fürth. For the next two seasons it was known as the Fürth German Open.. It was renamed the Paul Hunter Classic in 2.007 and in 2.010 became part of the PTC.
Paul Hunter was the first tournament winner in 2.004. After him he was conquered by Mark King (2.005), Michael Holt (2.006), Barry Pinches (2.007), Shaun Murphy (2.008 Y 2.009), Judd Trump (2.010), Mark Selby (2.011 Y 2.012), Ronnie O’Sullivan (2.013) y Mark Allen, reigning champion (2.014).
In the history of the tournament they have achieved 3 maximum breaks: the first was made by Ronnie O'Sullivan in 2.011 contra Adam Duffy; the second was achieved by Ken Doherty in 2.012 versus Julian Driver (the first 147 of Doherty); the last one was made by Aditya Mehta in 2.014 contra Stephen Maguire (Mehta became the first player from India to win a 147 officially).

Snooker has been growing in following in Germany over the last few years and fans from all over the country flock to Fürth to enjoy watching their heroes.
This year, during the first two days of the tournament (26 Y 27 of August) the amateur pre-qualifiers will be played.
